Whatever freedom we enjoy in this country, whatever "modernity" we have in this country, whatever social equality we have achieved in this country, is continuously under attack, and its preservation is made possible by the continuous struggles undertaken by a large number of persons scattered all over India. They do not make it to New Delhi’s TV studios, they are not to be found in the corridors of power in the nation’s capital, and they do not even belong to the metropolitan centres of the country. But, because of their sheer dedication, indefatigable energy and unquestionable integrity, they wield great influence among the people in their respective regions, in spite of the overwhelming odds stacked against them. Among all such persons, Govind Pansare was undoubtedly one of the finest.

Here are two posters that i made for organisations hosting performances in Delhi by Pakistan’s well known qawaali singers.

[The young people of Yuva Kranti observed the anniversary of the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh and his comrades at the Shaheed Park in Delhi on 23 March 2015. The NAPM had called people to observe Land Rights Day at the same place and time. The sacrifices made by Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru on this day is celebrated across the country as Shaheed Diwas. People’s Movements have celebrated this day as a reclaiming of community rights, remembering those sacrificed their lives (…)

On 22 May 1987, PAC personnel of UP reached Hashimpura, Meerut, took away about 50 Muslim men from a crowd outside a mosque, shot dead at least 42 of the men, and threw their bodies into a canal. On 21 March 2015, a Delhi Sessions Court accepted that the PAC personnel had committed these murders, but acquitted the policemen charged on account of insufficient evidence. Twenty eight years after the brutal massacre of Muslims by state forces, the guilty in uniform have not been identified and are roaming free.
