This week in Rome, 126 countries will debate whether chrysotile asbestos should be added to a ’watchlist’ of dangerous chemicals. Canada, which exports 95 per cent of the chrysotile asbestos it mines, has vetoed the addition in the past, arguing the material can be used safely.
