But, Government of Gujarat’s replies to the RTI application filed by Amrish Brahmbhatt and Rohit Prajapati of Jyoti Karmachari Mandal is not just a self contradictory but surprising and shocking.

7 December 2012We the undersigned, strongly condemn the arrest of four students of the University of Jaffna (UoJ) by the Terrorism Investigation Department (TID) on Thursday, November 29, 2012. While welcoming the release of Kanesamoorthy Sutharsan, a student of the Jaffna Medical Faculty on the morning of Tuesday, December 4, we condemn the continued detention of the remaining three Jaffna University Student Union members: Sanmugam Solaman (24), Kanagasundram Jenamajenth, and Student Union Secretary Paramalingam Tharshaanan (24).

Rationalist fears arrest if he returns to India
4 December 2012A report by CNN-IBN television network: Rationalist Sanal Edamaruku has been forced to live outside India as he fears an arrest back home. He has been accused of hurting religious sentiments and an FIR has been registered against him in Mumbai. But Edamaruku says he will never apologise for something that he has scientific evidence for. Freedom of speech is a Constitutional right of every Indian citizen. But for Edamaruku, freedom of speech came at a high price as he is now forced to take shelter outside India fearing an arrest.
